Fringe Shop Update...

I did it, friends! My Fringe shop update is live.

I'm in love with my newest designs. They're very dear to me. I guess that happens, as a designer. We have to love the pieces we create and feel passionate about them.

It was a fabulous challenge to get six new designs ready in a week. I'm so happy I went for it though. I hope you enjoy my newest creations....

Happy Earth Day!
In case I haven't mentioned it lately, thank you for being you....xo

Turquoise Tuesday Giveaway!

Yippee! It's Tuesday, which means turquoise! This isn't just any Turquoise Tuesday though. Today would have been my beloved grandmother Ardith's 90th birthday. She left us two Octobers ago and I miss her every day.

I wanted to do something to celebrate her birthday and to show how much it means to me that you take time out of your day to come visit me. Something to make it a happy day of celebration for us all. That's when I decided to do my first ever Fringe Giveaway. It just so happens that Ardith's birthday falls on a Tuesday this year.

To tie it all together, I chose to make this extra special Lily Lariat in turquoise. I made the lily leaves from a gorgeous butterfly pattern cotton fabric. When wearing this design, the lilies flutter about with your movements. To me, that's a somewhat magical combination with the butterfly fabric and the fluttery movement of the petals....

This Lily Lariat is a perfect spring and summer accessory. The colors are enchanting and will go with any complexion. Also, it's the perfect splash of color to take along on vacation. It takes up very little room, making it excellent for even the lightest packers.

You can see more examples of how to wear this style of lariat and other details here.

So, are you ready, sweet beautiful friends...?

A white rabbit, a lily and some mulberry wine...

Sounds like the makings of a pretty good joke, yes? Alas, it is in reality the latest cast of Fresh Fringe.

The Lily Lariat.

I actually have so many ideas right now. I'm grateful for the creative flow, as you know, sometimes it's flowing and sometimes it's not. Right now it's coming fast and furious, causing a great deal of frustration as I cannot dedicate my entire day to creating.

Right now I'm working on a piece that is completely and thoroughly different, yet very fringesque (sound familiar?). It's giving me a bit of trouble as I try to sort out the components and the type of fiber to work with. The design is centered on a 30-year-old piece of chain that I found in my favorite, enchanting little shop, Tom's. I hope to have it finished this week, if all goes according to plan....

Now, in case you're feeling a bit let down by my teaser title and not a joke to be found...I've made a little piece of silly just for you, my pets.

A white rabbit walks into a bar in search of some mulberry wine.
The bartender looks at him and says, "Is that a lily in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"

I know, I know, but I was under pressure! When in a pinch, always fall back on the "walks into a bar" joke. Words of wisdom from yours truly....

Thank you for stopping in, lovelies...I hope you're having a magical Monday...xo

Two Lovely Surprises...

Happy photograph by royalnoodle.

This week has already been a very happy week for me. Yesterday, the beautiful and extremely talented Nichole featured one of my pieces on her gorgeous blog, little brown pen. It was such a wonderful surprise, and made me smile all day. She titled her post "Dear Fringe", just like a warm personal message, and I was very touched by her generosity.

Today Etsy included my Lovely Librarian Cowl in their Etsy Finds article. Such a thrill and honor. Again, I wasn't expecting this. When my two dear friends, Kateri and Shana, contacted me almost simultaneously to congratulate me, I was completely surprised to learn about it.

I'm most grateful for both of these special gestures of appreciation for my work. I find that when life feels most stressful, or discouraging, magical little gifts float your way to remind you that you're headed in the right direction...
