Everlasting Moments.

Ever since I saw the movie Everlasting Moments, I think of photographs as everlasting moments. If you've not yet seen the film, I highly recommend it. It's a film that will stay with you and touch you deeply. It is a movie of deep meaning and beautiful photography and heartbreak and dreams and the pain, brutality, joy and reality of life.

Here are a few moments of my today, my everlasting moments...

  1. Have you tried the Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownie mix? Let me tell you, it's fantastic. As good as any baked from scratch brownie. I'm not usually a fan of bake mix, but this is an exception. I'll most likely never make brownies from scratch again.
  2. Air plants drying on the kitchen sill. They are the easiest plants, aside from succulents. I've written about my love for air plants before. If you want to see the post, it's here. Next to my air plants is a special little hippo. Ron brought him back for me from a long ago business trip to Belgium. He's been with me for more than fifteen years (the hippo, that is).
  3. Just some beautiful green produce: a watermelon and avocados. My favorite sandwich: avocado and tomato on toasted whole wheat bread with spicy mustard, sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Yum!
  4. Scene No. 1 from the magic cabinet in my studio.
  5. In my studio: An old doctors bag I picked up at the swap meet for $5 and antlers purchased at the same place, the same day. The antlers were $30.
  6. The saddest carrot crop you ever did see. All that's missing is Scarlett on the hilltop of Tara at sunset.
  7. A trinket dish (originally a cup saucer) on my bedroom dresser.
  8. The decrepit dashboard of our very-much-a-project-car Chevelle.
  9. View from the stairs, looking straight down into our front rooms.
  10. That blue water brings endless inspiration.
  11. From my Study in Succulents series.
  12. Our little clementine tree.
  13. A treat for myself from The Velvet Bird. I first saw it on the beautiful Katie of Skunkboy. I knew I had to have one.
  14. The end of another glorious day. So much to be grateful for.

Today.

  1. This morning's shadow play on the back patio.
  2. My shadow play on the pool.
  3. The circus came to town! In the form of the boy's mid-morning snack. He's been home sick for the past three days.
  4. A corner of the built-in that Ron built for our bedroom.
  5. Another nook of the built-in, where my old university books live.
  6. Barbecued pork roast sandwich for lunch.
  7. Only two left...DANG it!
  8. Books that arrived in the mail. Yay!
  9. The sandals Ron brought back for me from Spain.
  10. Thoughts of last summer have been visiting me today.
I hope you're enjoying your day today. Thank you for visiting.
Much love!

Music Monday - Ho Hey

Ho Hey by The Lumineers. One of my favorites and on my Summer 2012 playlist.

Happy Monday!

Jardin de Tuileries.

Our first day in Paris was grey with occasional sprinkles. It didn't dampen our mood. We walked and walked and walked. Here are a few more photos I snapped on our visit to the beautiful Jardin de Tuileries.

{face palm!}

Thank you for dropping in, friends! I hope you're enjoying a beautiful weekend.
.
Here, it's 100° F. Probably the hottest day of the year and very unusual for my area. Also, we don't have air conditioning so it's hot tamales! Last night, Ron returned from a business trip to Spain. It's grand to have him home and safe. The boy has a buddy over and they are staying put in the pool. A watermelon rolled off the top shelf in the fridge when I opened the door and left a very big mess to clean up...Which reminded me of a completely delightful, charming Chuck Jones interview. On TCM, I believe. I'll have to see if I can dig it up and share it with you here. I sort of fell in love with him while watching it. He was such a special person.

I have so many new Fringe pieces to share with you. I will begin listing them this week in the shop.

Until next time, dear ones...
Much love!

Hello, dear ones, and Happy Saturday to you! I've been in the backyard watching the morning activities of the many birds that live out there, sipping my coffee, and writing in my journals. A wonderful way to spend the early morning hours. The sun is shining brightly, but it has not become too hot yet. Just perfect!

I wanted to let you know that I have three new pieces in my shop today. All three were inspired by this summer's trip. Specifically, the day we spent at Jardin de Tuileries in Paris. Oh, how I wish I could transport that glorious garden back here!

You will see many new pieces in the days and weeks to come at Fringe and quite a few of them will be inspired by this past summer. I'm so excited to share these first three with you now...

Music Monday.

Angus and Julia Stone - Big Jet Plane. This song will always remind me of this summer and our trip to Europe. It's on my Summer 2012 playlist, which I will share with you.

I hope you're enjoying your day, dear ones!
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Much love...xo
