Paris (through the lens of an iphone)...

.

Hello, my dear ones, and Happy Monday to you!
I hope you had a relaxing, joyful weekend!

I've been meaning to do so many blog posts,
but have managed to do exactly zero posts for 11 days!
Sheesh!

Life has a way of cutting in to my blogging schedule...

To restart things, I thought I'd do a
wonderful post about one of the many trips
Ron has taken in the past few months.

These photo album posts are long overdue.
Let's get the ball rolling with his Paris photos, shall we?
I find it amazing that an iphone can capture such
moody
detailed
illuminated
charming
amazing
 photos.

Of course, some credit must be given to
the man behind the phone...

Thank you, Ron, for making this
quite magical
post possible. xoxo

I had a tough time deciding
the best order in which to show these photos.
Then I realized they would be best shown
in the order he took them.
Duh.

He usually doesn't have an entire day to himself
when he travels.
It worked out that he did this time.
There he was...
A free day in Paris...
This time, with a request from his wife,
he took pictures.

It began with a stroll along the Seine River...

I hope you enjoyed these beautiful photos.
I know I love looking at them again and again.
I actually had to pick and choose which ones
to post.
There are even more!

Two of them are my very favorites.
Can you guess which two?
{I numbered them for this reason.}
I'll tell you which two were my favorite in my next post.

Thank you so much for stopping by...
You bring sunshine into even the cloudiest days!

This day better not give me any more lip.
I'm wearing my karate t-shirt.

A million tiny pieces...

.

Dear ones,

My heart broke.
Into a million tiny pieces.
National Magazine Award-winning portfolio:
BEDROOMS OF THE FALLEN.

Please look.
It's very hard to look, but
these photographs are infinitely important.
Be prepared to weep.

Much love.

Happy Mother's Day!

.

Hello, dear ones!
I hope you're enjoying  your weekend.

To all of the mamas out there,
I hope your Mother's Day is
filled to the brim with love.

Family portrait.
Ardith, my dad and my aunt.

I thought I'd like to pay tribute to Mother's Day
with some of my favorite
momisms.

  • Don't make that face or it'll freeze in that position.
  • Always change your underwear; you never know when you'll have an accident.
  • Be careful or you'll put your eye out.
  • What if everyone jumped off a cliff? Would you do it, too?
  • If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
  • Don't put that in your mouth; you don't know where it's been!
  • Be careful what you wish for, it might come true.
  • It doesn't matter what you accomplish, I'll always be proud of you.
  • Because I'm your mother that's why!
  • If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times.
  • Yes, I *am* the boss of you.
  • Because I said so.
  • No dessert till you finish your dinner.
  • Get that thing out of your mouth!
  • I've got eyes in the back of my head.
  • Just you wait until you have kids of your own - then you'll understand.
  • Turn the volume down, you'll hurt your ears.
  • Bored! How can you be bored? Your room is filled with things to do.
  • Who'll end up walking, bathing and feeding it...?
  • If you can't find something to do, I'll find something for you.
  • Did you brush your teeth?
  • Don't forget to say Please and Thank You.

Believe me, there a ton of other mom sayings out there.
Many of them are hilarious.
I had to narrow it down so I chose the ones I've actually used.
I hope you won't think any less of me for saying some of these :)

I'm certain you all have your own special momisms.
Either ones you've used,
or your mom used on you.

I'd love to hear them, if you care to share...

Thank you so much for visiting.
And thank you for being you...

Happy May Day!

.

Happy May Day, my loves!
Sunday.
I love Sunday.
It's one of my seven favorite days of the week.
*wink*

I took a little tour of my backyard on this 1st day of May.
To celebrate new beginnings
and the promise of spring.

What better way to celebrate nature?

Lagerfeld roses.
My wedding bouquet was filled with them.

Double Delight roses.
They seem to glow in the sunlight.

Romeo & Juliet roses.
Ron's favorite.
They have the most beautiful scent.

I must say this is quite possibly
my favorite color.

Our Sago Palm reminds me of the days of dinosaurs.

Queen Elizabeth roses floating in a simple white bowl.
In honor of the royal wedding.
#romance

I hope you find time to enjoy nature today.
As you know, it's good for the soul.

The boys are away for a few hours.
They went paint balling, as I mentioned Friday.
So all's quiet on this western front.
As for me,
I'm on my way out back again.
It's time for a little Vitamin D
with Dwight Yoakam singing in my ear.

Thank you for stopping by, dear ones.
You are very much like roses in my garden...

Much love!
