Hello My Baby...

Michigan J. Frog. Never has a frog had more pizazz, verve, talent for dance, or strong vocal chords. I hope you enjoy this classic scene as much as I do.

It just never gets old.

At the Crossroads...

The film "Cast Away" is not my favorite film. Everyone who has seen it seems to have a different opinion of it. While I really like Tom Hanks, he's not my favorite actor. Yet, I will watch this film again for one reason. The ending. I am so in love with the ending of this movie. The feel of it, the look of it, the lighting, the setting, and the content. Starting where the Tom Hanks character is at the crossroads. I could watch it a million times and never get sick of it. I guess that makes me a romantic who loves the idea of survival, dirt roads, the dry hot air, old pickup trucks with dogs in them, jeans worn with boots and a tank top, a guy who's been through hell but finds a new flame, and fate. If you haven't watched this movie, I hope you will rent it. Let me know how you like the ending....

Heartstrings and Motherhood...

To My Mother by Robert Louis Stevenson

You too, my mother, read my rhymes
For love of unforgotten times,
And you may chance to hear once more
The little feet along the floor.

This photograph was taken by my son. Each time I look at it, the first thing that pops into my head is heartstrings. These are my heartstrings. At least, if heartstrings were something tangible, they would look like this. Infinite and complex, twisting, crossing, changing colors. For Mother’s Day, I felt this was the perfect image to share with you. To me, it’s the most appropriate way to describe my life as a mother. Heartstrings and mothers and children.

To every mother that reads this post, Happy Mother's Day.

Ardith's Orchid...

One of the items I brought home with me from Ardith's house after she died was an orchid. It was not blooming at the time, didn't even have buds showing. I didn't have much hope that it would in fact bloom under my care, but I couldn't leave it behind. Ardith loved orchids and had wonderful luck with them. I love orchids too, but once the original blooms die, I never get them to survive long enough to bloom again next season. It's a bit of a miracle, or perhaps Ardith's spirit, that the orchid I brought home from her house is blooming magnificently. It's a beautiful daily reminder of the one I miss so much...

Am I Blue...?

Yes, I am blue. In the most happy sense of the word. I thought that my newest Just-Say-Yes Ensemble would be in the best of company with these two beautiful pieces of jewelry. The sexy, swingy delta blues earrings are from Kateri of urban legend , and the posy perfect spring bouquet ring is by Shana of cookoorikoo, two of my very favorite people.

The Little Shop of Sweets...

A few sweet treats to feast your eyes on. These yummy delights can be found at Pooh Corner, Disneyland. All photos courtesy of SuspiciousPie.
