It's a Fringe Giveaway!

.

Hello, dear ones!  I have some exciting news...
I'm doing a Fringe Giveaway to celebrate my 4 year anniversary on Etsy,
and to say thank you for your support, kindness and friendship.

Yes, it's been 4 years since I opened Fringe on Etsy
It's hard for me to believe.
My experiences have been incredible.

To celebrate this little milestone, I'm giving away a one-of-a-kind piece.
From my Wild West Series.
I hope you love it...

"They saw me, those reckless seekers of beauty, and in a night, I was famous."
~ Lillie Langtry

This Bustle Collar is quite special.
Made from a gorgeous yarn,
the colors change from pale aqua,
turquoise,
deep aqua,
denim blue,
camel and caramel.

It's sumptuous,
ruffled,
soft as butter.

Textural and sculptural.
Mold the ruffles, for they are pliable.
Attach a sparkly brooch,
a strip of old lace,
a leather lace and trinket.

Dream of days gone by, a girl on the plains,
a self-sufficient woman of strength,
a gentle breeze and the sun,
romance and the wild west...

Are you ready, sweet lovely friends?

The rules are simple.
Just leave a comment and I will add your name to the drawing.

The winner will be drawn on

Hi dear ones!  It's been a little while, hasn't it?  I wanted the last post to be seen by as many people as possible (I feel the message is important) so I just sort of dropped off with the new posts for a bit.

I have been super busy creating.  This new year of ours has graced me with a great deal of creativity.  The ideas are flying fast and furious...yippee!  My needles and hooks and I are trying to keep up with my ideas.  It's been a bit of a challenge with Ron away for two weeks (he returned this past Tuesday night), and now another two week trip for him coming up at the end of this month.  We miss him terribly and I worry like a fiend, but he does get to travel to the most amazing places.

I will continue to work on my new ideas.  I have several pieces just waiting for the right photo lighting.  I also have a 12 piece series that I am very excited about.  For the past two weeks, I've been staying up late sketching each of the 12 designs.  They have become a very distracting obsession.

The three items above are my latest designs.  I listed them in my shop these past three days.  I'm quite in love with each one.  I can't seem to get enough of the Wild West Series.  The bustle scarves, scarflettes and now the new collar are designs I love to create.  Also, there is a brand new design coming to the Wild West Series next week.  I'm absolutely ecstatic about it.  I've been working a long time on it and can't wait to show you.

The cloud brooch is also a favorite of mine.  So fluffy and fun!  It's a great and inexpensive way to add lots of style to your wardrobe.  I have more colors for the cloud brooches coming your way soon.  One next week, as a matter of fact.

And finally, I wanted to mention the fact that tomorrow is my
4 year Etsy anniversary
I can't tell you how much I've learned over these past four years.
It's been the most amazing learning experience.

To celebrate my anniversary,
I will be having a Fringe Giveaway this week, here on the blog.
So stay tuned, darling dears!

I hope you had a wonderful week.  May your weekend be filled with little (or big) bursts of happiness and moments to cherish.

Thank you so much for dropping by...xo

Every moment counts...

.

Dear ones, I'd like to ask you a question....

Are you living in the moment?  Really living in the moment?  I pose this question because I feel it's an immensely important one.  Not so long ago I would have answered quite confidently "yes", but I would have been wrong.

How do you know if you're truly living in the moment?  Sometimes giving an example is the best form of explanation.  Let me share a true story of a day in my life, a moment in time.  This is an ordinary scene.  It turns into an extraordinary scene.  That's what I want in my life...ordinary which I turn into extraordinary, even for the most simple moments...

Ron and I are standing in a parking lot.  He is standing in front of me, facing me.  We're talking about an everyday little bit of nothing.  The light shifts, sunshine breaks free from cloud cover.  Ron squints slightly against the sun, at the same time he smiles at something I've just said.

Before:  I think to myself, "He looks so handsome. I love when he gets that expression on his face.  I love him."  We get in the truck and drive off.

Now:  I think to myself, "He looks so handsome..." Then I throw my arms around his neck and say, "I love you."

An ordinary fleeting, little moment in time turns into a magical, cherished little moment in time.  The feelings that result from the "Now" moment are priceless.  It's now something I'll never forget, and Ron is moved (as well as slightly surprised).  Never underestimate the element of surprise :).  More importantly, he feels loved.

Let me ask you again...Are you living your life in the moment?  I hope with all my heart that you are, in every aspect of your life.  The results will change your life.

Love yourself and live in the moment.

Thank you for stopping by, sweet friends.
And thank you for sharing this moment with me...xo

The Wallflower...

.

Hi darlings.

My newest piece, The Wallflower Scarf, will be available at Fringe tomorrow.

Check in then to see the colors of this piece.  It just so happens I made this design in one of my very favorite color combinations.  I love the versatility of The Wallflower Scarf.  You can create all kinds of looks with it.  I will have more photos and ideas for wearing this piece as well tomorrow.

In other news, R is out of town for two weeks.  Turkey and Libya.  I worry like a fiend when he's away, but I've heard from him and he's doing well.  A successful business trip.  I hope he brings back lots of photos that I can share with you here.   So, it's just the boy and I.  We really do have a great time together.  Our weekend plans are loose, but he is having a buddy over for the day on Sunday.  Other than that, we're going to just play it by ear.  Do you have any plans for the weekend?

I hope that whatever you're up to this weekend results in many happy memories.  As always, I truly appreciate your visits.  Until next time...

Much love...D

11 (actually 12) for '11...

..;;.

/

hi there, sweet friends...the idea of this post is to list my 11 aims for 2011, but alas, i have 12 for '11.  and why not, right?  the more, the better.  i think they speak for themselves.  these 12 hopes for '11 are always with me and have been for years.  it's a philosophy, you might say.  i'm not one who feels new year resolutions are necessarily a good idea.  i don't buy into them because i feel that many times, they are just setting us up for disappointment, or we make unreasonable resolutions just because it's january 1st.

my belief is to live for today and if it's a new leaf you want to turn, today (no matter the date) is the best day to begin....

laughter
love
health
music
imagine
create
nature
hope
read
learn
innovate
listen

do you have certain goals for 2011, dear ones?  i'd love to hear what they are, if you feel like sharing...

i hope the new year brings you much love, laughter, good health and prosperity!

for the first time this year, i want to thank you.  thank you for visiting, and

thank you for being you...xo
