At the Crossroads...

The film "Cast Away" is not my favorite film. Everyone who has seen it seems to have a different opinion of it. While I really like Tom Hanks, he's not my favorite actor. Yet, I will watch this film again for one reason. The ending. I am so in love with the ending of this movie. The feel of it, the look of it, the lighting, the setting, and the content. Starting where the Tom Hanks character is at the crossroads. I could watch it a million times and never get sick of it. I guess that makes me a romantic who loves the idea of survival, dirt roads, the dry hot air, old pickup trucks with dogs in them, jeans worn with boots and a tank top, a guy who's been through hell but finds a new flame, and fate. If you haven't watched this movie, I hope you will rent it. Let me know how you like the ending....

I haven't seen this movie in a long time either and I also didn't love it- but I remember I did like the kismet ending with the artist- although I sort of wanted him to end up with the girl he'd stayed alive for (sort of) all those years.... lovin' pickups and jeans and tanks, too...
